My entry to 's new contest: rewrite the ending of the ALW play. I decided to take it a more tragic route, Shakespeare like for sure. Here's the rundown: Raoul gets into the lair and tries to shoot Phantom. Christine tries to stop him and, predictably, she is shot and dies. Phantom, in his characteristic volcanic rage, strangles the boy. With nothing left to live for, Phantom cradles Christine's body until the mob arrives and his fate is sealed.
I was told that a very similar scenario happens in The Phantom of Manhattan. Having never read that object I refuse to call a novel, I had no idea it was used already.
If your wondering about the light spot in the middle, I had to use my camera flash to make it come out. Anything without flash was too blurry.
I saved the lineart for this if you guys think I could do better coloring it in Photoshop. For now though, this is it. I really need to start my homework...
Edit: Yes, I know the gun is pointed at his legs. Let's just say the poor policeman or whoever it is is terrified and can't keep his gun straight!
very awesome!!! I love the dimension that you gave it.
but.... wouldn't the bullet be hitting Erik's legs, though??? that probably wouldn't kill him..... well, unless he just bled to death..... *contemplates possibilities*

I haven't read that novel, either, so it's new to me! A very interesting idea of what could have happened. Well done! I'm impressed with the angle you've gone with here, with the guard looking in on the situation.
Yeah, I know... If the gun was any higher Christine would be covered.

"I 'ave you now, Fantome! For your life of crime and murderousness, I vill szhoot you in ze kneecap!"
French accents make everything funny.
But I digress.
Smashing job, dear! I like the blood spot on Erik, it is suggestive of some greivous dead-body-huggins and general 'ooh, how can I go on'-ness. And hey, you took my advice on the hair! Now I feel all important ^_^
Like I said, I used a reference for Christine that had shorter hair, and you called me on it. I take all critiques seriously.

I am there when darkness falls...
I am there when light arises anew...
I am there when your life has ended...
I am there when your soul will burn.
I see the demons of your hell.
I kiss the angels of your despair.
