This weekend I went back to the half-face makeup. I took the one I made previously and beefed it up, adding thickness with cotton batting and texture with gelatin. I must say, gelatin is very fun to play with and creates nice burn textures.

Anyways, on to the pictures.
The three hatless pics show the makeup with all the painting and shading done. I actually had time to do a better job on the left side.
Middle is the complete effect. I elected to cover all the makeup on the appliance with liquid latex in order to preserve the colors during the constant removing and replacing of the mask. It also gave it a nice slimy sheen. Stage blood was applied over that in the hollows where gelatin was used. If I look exhausted in the picture, it's because I was (and still am). I took that after I got home last night, around 2 in the bloody morning...
The last pic is the appliance after I finally got to rip it off and get some sleep.

I got lots of compliments on this at work from my coworkers, and lots of screams and "Eeeeews" from the guests. I'm definitely wearing this one to the costume contest.
